Does Sex Really Begin in the Kitchen?

How does this idea of "sex begins in the kitchen" work? We know it does not mean getting creative with the utensils and appliances, but what does a woman mean when she says romance begins elsewhere than the bedroom?

These may be difficult things for men to really understand, but that should not stop us trying. A husband with potential is the desire of just about every woman's heart.
Ideally, on the other hand, the wife who is the desire of a man's heart does not require him to change, but supports him as he tries.

So the picture we are developing is of a husband who is committed to learning and becoming better, with a wife who is committed to extending grace, never requiring changing. Those two things in tension give the marriage a substance of mutual submission.

The husband submits himself to God, and to his wife, in learning to serve her. The wife submits herself to God, and to her husband, by allowing him to grow without forcing matters.

Both are required to submit. Marriage is about mutual submission.

But let's get back onto the subject of sex – and its significance emerging from the kitchen.

THE KITCHEN AS AN ALLEGORY OF LOVE

Love can begin in the kitchen or in the laundry or out in the yard, simply through the act of service; the husband plies his skill and uses his humble strength to work diligently.

It may be an old-fashioned value, but women love working men; not necessarily blue-collar men, but the willingness of a man to lead his family in cheerfully doing the tasks of the home.

Tasks like ironing, washing up, cooking, vacuuming, etc, may once have been the domain of the woman. But now no more. The issue is more about the willingness of the husband to pitch in. His heart is to help.

A woman knows she's loved when her husband seeks to please her because he loves her. This is an act of faith for the husband, because when he does nice things for his wife she is romanced. He must be genuine, committed, sincere.

The husband never does these nice things for his wife for his personal gain. He must do them sacrificially. Wives can smell a fraud from a mile off.

***

Wives desire a sincere, thinking husband, who is willing to sacrifice himself in doing tasks around the home, and being actively involved in his family. When a husband acts with such integrity his sexual relationship with his wife will usually have more mutual joy and satisfaction about it.

Pros And Cons of Using Microfiber Towels

The invention of microfiber brought a revolution in the market few years back. Microfiber towels were successfully launched for cleaning and dusting. Microfiber towels even proved useful to clean oil stains. Right from its inception, this fiber was considered to be far more superior to other fibers available in the market. Microfiber is not only superior in quality but is also quite affordable so it became extremely popular in the cloth industry.

One Act of Kindness Expands!

How many acts of kindness have you experienced today? Perhaps they have gone un-noticed because they were so small and so frequent, that you simply accepted them. What acts of kindness did you purposefully or inadvertently act upon? Have you smiled at an elderly person who is so lonely that you’ve made his day, unknowingly? Or, have you helped someone bogged down with groceries trying to open their trunk? Have you paid a good deed forward and bought a cup of coffee for a person who couldn’t afford one, or maybe a meal? Have you done this without reservation, so naturally because you know it is the right thing to do?

Years ago my car broke down on a busy city street. My young son was in the back seat. I thought, “What am I going to do?” Within moments a young man pulls up behind me. He asks if he can help and then proceeds to commandeer stopping traffic going the other way! He solicits the assistance of three other drivers, who get out of their cars and push my car to a side street. I remember standing watching this scene play out and was in awe. Miracles happen every day. One act of kindness expands.

What acts of kindness have you done today, or have received? Is there someone, or an organization that you may help? Or do you need assistance yourself? It is my belief that everyone is entitled to clean water, safe housing and nutritious food. Who are you able to help today? It doesn’t have to be a huge task. It can be something small. An act of kindness is always repaid ten-fold. It is a law of the universe.

Let’s jot down some ideas to get your creativity flowing.

1. Pick up groceries for your friend or neighbor who just got out of the hospital. Better yet make them some chicken soup and chocolate chip cookies. Great combination. Both are comfort foods!

2. Shovel the driveway of an elderly person.

3. Your friend has a family emergency out-of-town. Look after their cat or dog, gerbil or goldfish.

4. Purchase a coffee for the person behind you in the Starbucks line.

5. Buy a meal for a homeless person.

6. Assist a person stuck in the snow.

7. Volunteer at a Soup Kitchen.

8. Purchase needed items for the food bank.

9. Volunteer to read stories to children at the library.

10. Slip a note of appreciation under the door of a shut-in.

11. Purchase a handful of tulips for someone who loves flowers but never receives them.

12. Bring some toiletries to someone who is in the hospital. They will love you for it.

13. Clean up the kitchen without being asked.

14. Fold laundry for a person who doesn’t have time.

15. Offer to vacuum.

An act of kindness need not be expensive. In fact, when you do something nice for someone without expectation of reciprocation the universe takes notice. Then when you …

Mortar and Pestle Can Benefit Your Health

There is a good reason that people have been using a mortar and pestle for generations. Back in the days before everything under the sun arrived in a can, box or tube due to mass production, people actually needed to grind up herbs and spices themselves. This is yet another way that people were literally closer to the food that they consumed. Today a mortar and pestle might not be as common as it once was, but there can be little doubt that the mortar and pestle most definitely still have a place in any home.

Sometimes it is the small touches that can have a huge impact on one’s overall health. Take, for example, the mortar and pestle’s ability to impact health. Considering how inexpensive this tool is the fact is that it only makes sense to add one to your kitchen.

The Taste Benefits of a Mortar and Pestle

Having a mortar and pestle in your kitchen will definitely encourage you to grind up more fresh spices. If you have ever cooked with freshly ground spices, then you know just how much better food can taste when freshly ground spices have been added in. Moreover, spices have a tendency to naturally lose some of their taste when they have been processed. Yet, when you ground them freshly yourself, this is simply not an issue. If you like the way your food tastes then you are more likely to cook more nutritious food on a consistent basis.

Having a mortar and pestle in your home will encourage you to get more spices in your diet. In general, spices are good for your overall health and are full of nutrition, including vitamins and minerals. Thus having a mortar and pestle in your home may improve the quality of your diet.

A Mortar and Pestle Will Improve Your Recipes

Just the smell of herbs and spices might very well be enough to motivate you to get in the kitchen and cook more and experiment more. When you have a mortar and pestle around your kitchen, your friends will see it on your counter and undoubtedly gain new respect for your cooking skills.

Cooking should be fun. Having a mortar and pestle on hand will not only let you work out some of your aggression, but it will also allow you to experience cooking from a somewhat different perspective. If you have never experienced the taste sensation of fresh herbs and spices, then you are in for a real treat.

The Little Touches Add Up

The quality of one’s health can sometimes be a cumulative affair. What may seem like small touches can add up to be rather significant over the long term. In this way a mortar and pestle’s ability to encourage you to use more herbs and spices is a small change that can have a substantial long term impact. Just think of all the flavorful meals that you will make as well once you’ve started grinding up your own …

Clear Your Mind, and Your Profits Will Soar!

It amazes me to see the conditions that some people work in. Although this is internet marketing, and you can literally work wherever you want, you need to start taking it seriously to start making some real money online. That seriousness needs to first start with your workspace. Get neat and clean with your workspace, and watch your profits start to grow.

Example:

I had a friend (John) that started to sell ebooks online. He would always complain to me … "I can never get anything done." "It takes me so long to make my web pages." "I get too distracted to work" … etc.

I visited him at his house one day to find him "working" from the couch. He was hunched over, working on his laptop with a box of pizza and a beer next to him. He had his TV on, and was trying hard to finish a site design.

I asked him if he worked like that all the time … and he said "Yes"

I said to him … "Just the way your sitting would drive me crazy.

Now to make a long story short … he now has his own work area. He still does work in front of the TV every now and then … but he has started to take his business a little more serious. And he also makes a lot more money online!

I know … having a clean jobspace is not the only thing that matters for success online … but it helps. I also know that many of you "work" very similar to my friend John. So, do yourself a favor, and get serious about your business.

Remove some of the clutter from your desk … or buy a desk if you have been working from the kitchen table. I am not saying that you can never work from the kitchen table, or relax on the couch while checking your email, but you must have some sort of permanent space.

If you have an extra room, turn it into an office. If you do not have an extra room, clear some space in the corner of your den, or make some extra room in your living room, something. You need to have a space that is yours. Somewhere that you go to work, and nothing else.

You see, it was not the fact that John was working from the couch that hindered his success. It was the fact that he also did other things on the couch like watch TV, eat, sleep, etc. He could never get serious when he started to "work" because so many other things were related to sitting on the couch.

My example:

When I started online … I worked from the kitchen table. I also ate at the kitchen table, as well as did my home work and studied there too. It looked like I could never get anywhere with my online business.

And again … to make a long story short … …

Home Safety for Seniors and Those in Need of Home Assistance

Introduction

The CDC (Centers for Disease Prevention and Control) indicates in recent posts that “Each year, millions of older people-those 65 and older-fall”. These falls can often be serious and there are strong indications that for seniors or those recovering or those with disabilities each successive fall increases the probability of an additional fall. In fact, also according to the CDC, there were 9.6 Million non-fatal injuries in the senior population due to falls, in the year 2015. An additional 33 thousand were fatal in that same year. (Go to the cdc.gov site for sources). These facts are clearly sobering but even more concerning since so many of these falls take place at home and could easily be prevented.

Contributing Factors to Home-based Falls

Seniors and others that have lost some level of independence face many challenges in the home, some intrinsic and others extrinsic, some related to home safety and some, surprisingly, related to caregivers. Here are some common factors that we all need to keep in mind:

  • Loss of full motor control
  • Medications that cause drowsiness and or dizziness
  • Home-safety issues that increase the dangers of mobility
  • Improper support devices to aid mobility
  • Lack of ongoing, appropriately paced physical activity

Of all of these clearly the easiest to eliminate or mitigate fall into a single category above: Home-Safety issues. This is probably the most critical of all of these since the elimination of any items in this category is likely to profoundly and significantly reduce the risk of falls in the home.

Caregivers and Their Role in Home Safety

Family caregivers or hired caregivers, for seniors and others, need to be acutely aware of fall-risk dangers in the home and help those in need of assistance avoid these dangers. Caregivers need to be proactive by ensuring the safety of those they care for through awareness, communication and correction of hidden and/or obvious home dangers. This can be accomplished through vigilance and involvement. For example caregivers should try to put themselves into the shoes of those they care for and predetermine what challenges they face in and around the home. It is challenging enough for those in need of care to merely accept their position of aging, disability or otherwise, and therefore caregivers need to be sensitive to the feelings of seniors and others while still be vigilant in keeping the home safe. Caregivers really do need to behave as unsung heroes or angels, operating in the background, and without making seniors or others in care feel worse for their loss of some independence.

Risk Mitigation and Steps to Safety

The CDC as well as other sources provide significant yet intuitive advice on how to minimize the risk of fall and injury. In fact the National Council of safety provides some excellent direction in its recent article “Slip, Trip and Fall Prevention will Keep Older Adults Safe and Independent” ( click here for source). Most of us can leverage a little thought on this topic and easily come up …

Quick and Easy Window Treatments

Window treatments are fabulous.

Why? For one, well-dressed windows add wow to any room in the house. And they’re functional too-they can be used to block light, create privacy, soften sounds, draw attention to great views (or conceal less pleasing ones), and more. And they look darn good doing it.

To help you figure out which window treatment styles are right for your home and tastes, here’s a rundown on the basic types. Don’t want to spend a fortune? I’ll throw in some easy DIY ideas for dressing up your existing curtains and shades too.

THE BASICS

Curtains typically hang on rods from rings, tabs, or ties and are pulled open or closed by hand. This type of window treatment is made in a variety of styles and fabrics to fit windows large and small, in settings formal or informal.

Drapery panels tend to look more formal than curtains. Drapes are attached to a rod with hooks that allow for opening and closing simply by pulling a cord. They usually hang from the top of a window or even the ceiling to the floor.

Blinds help control light and privacy and may be used with other window treatments or alone. All sorts of materials-including vinyl, wood, and faux wood-are available to match the style of your spaces.

Shades are used to block out light and provide privacy too. Styles include simple roller shades; top-down shades; Roman shades with sleek, defined folds; and balloon shades that billow when they are pulled up.

Cornices are affixed to the wall at the top of the window. Typically made of plywood and dressed up with paint, fabric, wallpaper, molding, or other embellishments, cornices are used to add architectural detail to windows.

Valances, much like cornices, are hung across the top of windows, cover curtain rods and add structural interest. Fabric valances may be tailored to create a distinctive shape or draped loosely across the top of the window.

THE QUESTIONS

The tricky part about window treatments is deciding which ones to use and in what combination. A few questions to ask yourself:

What is the style of my windows and the room they’re in?

Formal, floral-print window treatments may look absolutely ridiculous in a contemporary home, while inexpensive blinds probably won’t do justice to a bank of windows in a formal setting. I prefer simpler shades and curtains over gaudy layers of fabric in my own home, but there’s something to be said for a well-designed, formal living or dining room with exquisite folds of fabric framing a window.

What is the function of the room?

This may guide the materials you select for your window treatments. For instance, it’s smart to pick fabrics that stand up to moisture for bathroom windows and ones that are easy to clean for windows near heavy-use areas of the kitchen.

What size are my windows?

Trick your eyes into thinking your small windows are larger by positioning the curtain rod above the top of the window. …
