A Morris County man was killed in a crash Friday night on the Garden State Parkway in Passaic County, authorities said.
A car driving southbound on Garden State Parkway in Clifton ran off the road about 10:11 p.m., veered to the right and hit a sign and a guardrail, said New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry.
The car then got back onto the parkway, running off the left side of the road and hitting a guardrail before crossing the highway again and slamming into a concrete barrier off to the right, he said.
The driver, Conor Gaul, 29, of Chester, was pronounced dead at the scene. The section of the parkway and the nearby ramp were shut down for 2.5 hours, said Curry.
The crash remained under investigation Saturday morning, State Police said.
